Balmacara hotels. Balmacara Hotel, Balmacara |
|
Rooms
from GBP 55
At the Balmacara Hotel, Skye beckons from the front windows, and the glorious hills of Wester Ross beckon from the back. The scenery tends to set its own very high standards.[map] The hotel is located on the shores of Loch Alsh, approximately 3 miles from Kyle of Lochalsh, the main crossing point to the Isle of Skye. Most of our bedroom windows frame views of Loch Alsh, and in our restaurant the picture is larger but much the same. Faced with all this, we developed our own hotelier's philosophy. Broadly speaking it's based on the idea that if our guests are ever to drag themselves away from our windows, we must make it worth their while. The hotel operates a strict non-smoking policy.[more...] |

Balmacara hotels. Dunollie Hotel, Broadford, Broadford (close proximity) |
|
   Rooms
from GBP 88
The Swallow Dunollie Hotel sits on the old harbour wall in Broadford, with magnificent views across the sea. Dunollie is Skye's largest hotel, situated in the village centre, where you will receive a warm welcome to Skye.[map] The Swallow Dunollie Hotel has magnificent views across the sea to Loch Kishorn and the Applecross Hills. The bright airy restaurant (which has an excellent reputation locally) looks out across the water and occasionally dolphins and whales can be sighted - this is complemented by similarly splendid views from many of the shore-side bedrooms. There is also a bar offering local malt whisky and ales. The hotel is on the east side of Skye and is perfectly situated in the centre of the village, ideal for exploring both the North and South of the island and allowing guests to view the stunning scenery of Skye. The Cuillin Hills and Trotternish Peninsula are two of Skye's biggest attractions, both of which are easily accessible from the Dunollie, as is the island's capital Portree, Dunvegan Castle, 'the Garden of Skye' and the Sleat Peninsula, home to the Clan Donald centre.[more...] |
